Just want to say hi
Hey.....Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I just got a KLX250 and Im anxious to get it in the dirt. Im not new to riding, but I am new to riding dirt, so hopefully Itll be just as fun as sportbike riding.....hopefully safer too!
Ive been lurking for a bit, reading about modificationsand have already got the bike torn apart and jet's orderd...KDX snorkel already installed, might get a airfilter payday, thinking BigGun for the exh.
If I get enough ride time in the dirt I *may* enter a harescramble or two next year....well see.
Anyhow.......guess thats about it. I hope to learn a lot from you folks, and hope to contribute more
Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome!
Man, I was too busy riding during my first year of ownership to do any mods. I did quite a few during the first Winter with the bike though. I still have a custom seat, bash plate, steering damper and probably a tachometer to add, but that should round things out pretty well.
Good luck andhave fun.

About 200W worth. The regulator's efficiency brings that down to about 160W though. Still more than enough for mostuses.

do a search for it. if it's been done it's in here somewhere.

The KLX250S stator has 18 poles; ALL of which are used in stock configuration. You can't eek much more out of this baby and I would hate to see someone waste their time trying to do so.
The onlypossibility I can think of for eeking-out a few more watts is finding a more efficient regulator/rectifier unit, which Ihaven't been able to findso far. We already havea high output stator fellas[sm=smiley20.gif]. That should be way off your radar as far as mods go.
