Default jetting ??

I just got a 09 klx250s and I am looking at getting a fmf q4 slip on exhaust for it. I dont know of any place I could get a jetting kit for fairly cheap or which kit would be a good one. Any ideas? Thanks.

Go to the "Search This Forum" box in the upper right hand corner of the lead-in page to this KLX forum. Type in "jetting". You'll get the time and experience contributed from many participants on this board concerning jetting our KLXs in just about every configuration you can hope for.

I just ordered the jets and needle. I think the cost was like 20 maybe 30 bucks.... Jet kits are way overpriced. If you looking to go cheap just order the jets.

The dynojet kits provide a different spring (softer) for the diaphram, that is supposed to improve throttle response.

Get a KDX200 snorkel........not as much air as removing the lid but much better than stock on the KLX250S.

So the other day I put my new exhaust on and I made sure I used heat resistant silicon for a gasket. I just drove it up the street and I found I have a small exhaust leak (easy fix) and when I shut it off it started to smoke out the tip of the muffler for about 10 min. Is this because it so new and it just needs to broken in or is there another problem?

I put a cheap performance slip-on on my sons 4 wheeler and for about a month at least the packing would burn some when the thing was shut off, it's stopped now so that may be what it is.
