Default It's only a matter of time....

New guy here and while I don't own a KLX yet........I'll find one eventually.

Anyway, I have a line on one. A 2009, bone stock with 600 miles......owner is stuck on 3500 and is in no need to sell. While this is more than I wanted to spend .......I did sell the KLR and it would pretty much be a swap.

I seek the advice of forum....

I just bought a 2010 about 3 weeks ago with only 500 miles for that same price. I knew it was a little higher than average but it was the black one (rare to find around here) and it was available when I was ready to buy. So far no regrets! Average price otherwise when I was shopping around was closer to $3000 unless purchased from a dealership

It's worth what ever you want to pay for it, or what ever he can get somebody to pay for it. Seriously, that sounds like a decent deal if it's in good shape. It's nearly a new bike @ 600 miles (depending how it was ridden).

I got my 09 back in October for $3100 ($3400 OTD). Bone stock + hand guards. It had 1000 miles on it and all the plastics were well used. I proceeded to use them more. I got tired of looking and just made an offer on the first one I could find.

I thought about getting a black one, but the dealer didn't feel like getting up out of his chair to talk to me. That bike is still sitting. ( Kawasaki 2010 KLX 250 KL250 )

The only thing better than a red KLX is a black one.

I think $3,500 sounds fair. I paid around $5k OTD for my '12. Maybe talk him down a couple of hundred or throw in a helmet/gear to sweeten the deal.

Plastics are perfect.....tires still have the fuzz on them......chain and sprockets look new......crankcase has no boot wear.......he says the bike has not been on anything but pavement I tend to believe him, because I can't find a spec of mud.....can't find any fluid leaks..........plus he is like 5 minutes from my house....I could ride it home.

Dude:

Welcome to the forum.
Buy the bike. You'll soon forget what you paid.

Show up with $3k cash and see what happens.
Have an extra $300 in one pocket and another $200 in your back pocket just in case.
A better deal always comes around after you buy, so don't worry about it. Damn craigslist.
