Default IMS gas tank

the ims gas tank arrived and i've installed it...since i have the california model, i have three tubes (blue dot, red dot and yellow dot) that connect to nothing on the gas tank...one tube is cap'd as instructed...one tube connects to the top of the gas cap for vent....i have one beige/yellowish tube remaining..going down somewhere below...i don't know what to do with it...i just cap'd it for now and zip tied it...what to do?..

i know..i should probably do the california emissions delete and get rid of everything...but, this is just a temporary fix..the bike runs and revs fine...just wondering if the capping of this beige/yellowish tube is a concern for now?

I think that is a vent or something on the 09.

The '09 had a couple vents - one went to the charcoal cannister, and one vented to the ground. I put a "Y" on mine, and vented both to the ground.

i should do the below this week....i hate using rubber caps, so i probably use stainless steel bolts and screws to plug the holes...easy for plastic holes, but looks like the carb has some brass tips for the tube...hmm...wonder if i can just solder it closed

How do you like the tank? I'm torn between it and the Acerbis.
Like you I use the KLX to commute and my ATM card is getting worn out stopping for gas every other day.
Been looking at the 5 gallon Acerbis tank on my 650 and been thinking of trying to fit it. But I really want it on the 650 for some range on highway trips(once she's a goer and street legal)!
And, even though you hate them, Home Depot has rubber caps for every size you need. They're vinyl actually. With a little sealer they stay on fine. Cleaner and easier and reversable, if you need to sell in your state with the emission stuff on.
I lost the air box collector bottle drain and just for sh*ts and giggles capped it with a vinyl cap that fit. It's still on there with just friction. Also haven't dragged it through any trail "situations" since. If I lose it, I'll just put another on.

Do you have to use a vent tube on the cap? I'd prefer to use a locking cap.

I used vinyl caps... higher temp capabilities and almost zero rotting or corrosion chance.

p.s. like 2 bucks at autozone
