I got the stutter. Opinions please.
Guys,
I've read all the posts on the highway stutter problem. They've given me some ideas on how to proceed, but I've got a couple questions.
I've had the same setup for a while -- DJ stage 1/snorkle off/Uni filter/stock exhaust. No issues until I did the smog-block, which seemed give more power overall. But it also seemed to introduce the stutter behavior -- usually at 1/4 to 2/3 throttle and under acceleration. It usually doesn't happen at steady speed, no matter what the throttle position or gear. So I'm su****ious of the jetting. We will see.
What I can't logic out is: If the only thing changed is the smog block (block two vacuum lines on the engine side of the carb; block line into exhaust manifold; block line into airbox), would this tend to make the mixture go leaner or richer? Since it doesn't seem to happen at full throttle, is this just a needle/needle jet issue?
Thanks,

Hey Doug, first of all welcome to the forums, and second, post up a intro in the new members area so we all can give you a proper welcome. As far as the stutter, I don't have a clue since my bike has run perfectly for 12,000 miles now after the shop did my jetting. But someone will be on shortly to give you an idea of what to look for.

Thanks for the kind welcome. I've put up an intro. Keep up the good work.

I tried all that...mine still does it. Someone mentioned something under the seat? Yeah, besides the airbox...A switch or wire or something? I went as rich as I could possibly go and it still did it.
The only way for me to go richer would be to run the 132 dynojet main with the stock exhaust. It just so happens I'm converting the bike back to stock, I'll give it a shot.

Here is the thread I'm talking about.

I'd like to know what specific wire or connection I'm to be looking for. I'm not convinced it's jetting as the symptoms were exactly the same through multiple jet settings for me. EXACTLY the same from bone stock to full setup.
