I finally put the YZ up for sale today
I wanted Super Motard the KLX but realized something very important...
I'm simply too damn finicky to decide if I'm going to be trail riding or road riding so I'd end up swapping parts back and forth more than riding.
Combine my finickiness with the fact I like the KLX so much for trail riding, and that leaves me with only one option...retiring the YZ and using the proceeds to buy a dedicated SM.
(disc protectors and skidplate and additional crap added after I took this pic)
Looks like I'll be picking up either a 2008 WR250X this weekend or I will be finding the Kawasaki version of it if they have one locally. (lol)
I should probably get the WR but already knowing the eccentricities of the KLX has its advantages...

Can't find **** locally for the SM Version of the KLX (New, leftover 09 model, anyway)
When I originally went looking for a Dual Sport back in September 08, I wanted to buy a WR250X and the guys at the local Yamaha shop would not sell me the one they had for $5000 OTD.
That one at the local Yamaha shop has now sat there for a year and a half. According to my contact there, no one has even asked about it in 6 months. They have dropped the price to $4800 (which is ironic since I offered more than that in cask 18 months ago and they told me to basically F-Off)
I'm leery of buying anything used...
Not much on eBay in my area.
Traderonline has squat in the area
The local classified section of the newspaper is basically defunct
Craigslist doesn't have anything other than idiots who financed their bike with 0 down and cannot pay off the remainder of the $6900 they owe (that poor sunofabitch, lol).
So...I may be getting that leftover WR250X from the local stealership this weekend.
