Default Hunting Season?

Just wondering what your take was on when/where to ride during hunting season? I think blackpowder started this weekend. I didn't see anyone out today but it won't be long. There are no MC specific trails around here so its all truck trails that I get to ride on unfortunately, hence there will be hunters.

So do I stick to pavement for the rest of the riding season? Take it slow and quiet on the trails? Nightride? Or take it at a typical fast pace and slow down for traffic/walkers? I forgot about hunting season when I ordered the Michelins, maybe I should have bought a set of street tires.....

I wouldn't be too afraid of being shot. Just make sure you wear a really, really, bright orange vest. Besides, you just might a hunter by flushing a deer out of hiding.

Speaking of which, I got a brand new 30-06 ready for deer hunting. [&:]

Speaking of flushing deer.......I was zipping along a trail by the river whena deer ran up from the river side and paralleled me before doing this flying high kick maneuver in front of me and bounding off. Darn near flushed me britches on that one.[:@]

I have had many deer running parallel with me on the side of the trail at close to 40mph at times and have them cross right it front. It is not a good feeling. The horn does come in handy at times to try and scare them off before you get up to them.

The deer up here laugh at the wimpy KLX horn. It did however get the attention of the pizza delivery boy that pulled out in front of me in town. He just threw up his hands and kept going.

The deer don't bother me too much. Either I see them first or they see me first. Louder pipes is amust for the hard to hear deer.
