Default How often do you change your oil?

Hey All,

Like the question says: How often do you change your oil?

I know the owner's manual says every 7500 miles after the first 600. I changed oil and filter after 100 and then again at 600. Is there anything to be gained by changing it every 3000, or even 1000 miles?

Just wanting to know what you all think.

Craig

For me, I change the oil every 3,000 miles or once a year (which ever comes first). Now if I have been off-roading more often, then every 1,000 miles.

I Change mine every 3000km . Check filter at 6000 km. its only a litre and half. not much of an expense compared to tires!

every thousand. Like someone said earlier, oil is cheap. Also, if you abuse the clutch at all ( and I do) the clutch material goes right into the oil.

I have heard the oil companies recommend every 100 miles or as often as you can possible afford it. I agree, but I have a mutual fund in petroleum
hahaha

Excellent question. Probably requires a chemist in the petroleum industry to get a real answer. Let me know if you find an expert opinion.

7500 sounds like a lot of miles between changes. But if that is what Kawi is saying and they are selling warranties then it is prob good. If you cut that in half and change it every ~3000 you are probably great! More than that and you are just helping my mutual fund

I change mine every 300-500 miles. Shes always got clean blood in her. Probably over doing it but it makes me feel better. But not the wallet.
