Default How to modify this motorcycle lift

A neighbor sold me his Craftsman motorcycle lift for $25. It was too good of a deal to pass up. However, it appears the lift saddles are too far apart to fit the bottom end of the KLX. So I was wondering if anyone else has one of these lifts and if so how you modified it to work with your KLX.

Sears makes adapter plates that go on the saddles but I have been unable to find them online. So I'll call next week and see how much they are. Even so I don't know if a riser will meet the frame properly.

My friend has the same lift. I used it to change out my wheels. We just put a 2x4 on the front pad and jacked it up. Sat there just fine.

As above with plywood, planks, whatever.
Then a couple ratchet straps to keep it from toppling over.

Y'know you could drill and put on a couple angle iron arms on the base of the lift to work as anti-tip, maybe a couple clamps that would swing over the bottom frame tube on your scrap wood piece if big enough

I will say I have a home build step stand that holds both KLXs quite stable. If I take off one wheel it will tip back or forward to the other, still stable, no tie downs.

Yeah, I'm like a few others and grabbed a piece of 3/4" plywood and have never looked back. It works.
I have a bunch of bikes and each one has a set of blocks or whatever to make it work for that bike.

I have the same exact lift and use a 2x4 on the toomanytoys84 said. Works fine for me. I have a bunch together and had the seat as high as my chest a few times. All depends on what I'm doing on the bike....
