how do you get mouse guts out of an engine?
my ridding buddy just bought a used 2003 drz 400. (glad he got a dual sport at least) so needless to say his quad has been sitting in the garage pretty untouched lately. well, went to fire it up and it was makin all kinds of crazie nosies (wasnt there when it happened, just what he told me) and he thinks that a MOUSE may of climbed into his air box and made a nice home out of it, possiably going into the engine. I said i've got to see it for my self, there must be reminence of mouse holes in the filter or something! then again maybe it go into the engine after the carb thru a rubber boot. i dont know for sure, gotta check it out later this weekend... just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else? do you have to rebuild the entire engine to fix this problem? or just fire it up and change the oil a few times... lol i feel bad for the poor mouse, he was probably just chillin in there tryin to get warm and all of a sudden a hell fire came over him

would have to eaten throught the air filter.... thats sucks though..... when i worked at pennzoil, alot of cars that sat came in and had acorns, dogfood, and anything mice would eat in the air box, but the filter keeps it out of the motor....

Ah, send the cat in to clean it up, all good.
No sounds like a bit of investigation is needed, you could hope that the camchain tensioner was a bit lazy from sitting, give it a wiggle, check oil levels, otherwise its top off time!
Good luck
