Default How can I speed up the warm-up process? (See video link)

It takes me a good 2-3 mins to get my 2009 KLX250S warmed up for riding. It's annoying because I have a loud exhaust and avoid riding it in late nights or early mornings so I don't wake my neighbors up. Basically this is how it goes:

- Turn on the bike with choke, wait for the RPMs to increase while on idle to around 3,200 then turn off choke and let the bike idle at 1,500 RPM for a minute
- After 1 min of idling, start giving it some throttle until it stops bogging down when given throttle. See the video below, it's like an art at this point hahaha

My bike is jetted properly and feels great when it's warmed up. It's always the cold starts that I fear since I hate being an obnoxious neighbor.

Jet the carb. My 09 will start up and be off choke in less than a minute in normal riding weather. Usually I can ride away in 30 seconds. You have a choice. You can do the plug and play referring to D. Pippin's site (click here) using Kawasaki Kiehin parts or you can undergo the mental abuse from the Kaw forum authority using Dyno Jet kit parts. Either way your results should be great.

Carb is already jetted properly for my altitude using a DJ kit + koubalink extended mixture screw
Could it be a valves issue since it only happens when cold and goes away when hot?

If you 'need' the 1/4 HP the muffler change does, then be the 'obnoxious neighbor'. ... along with every other ugly american that has his big wheel toy pickup that he can't shut off while he's getting getting his coffee latte' cause he can't get it restarted. Congradulations.

Why didn't you just get a KTM?

What a toxic individual. A simple question about rough cold starts turns into a rant by a man-child. Get your **** together my dude, you're a grown man now.

My Grom had an insanely loud dual exhaust so I made some simple inserts to tone it way down.

What kind of exhaust are you running? Most offer quiet inserts you can pop in or out in a minute depending on your mood.

To keep the vibe going, tooter, why do you have dual mufflers on a single. Kome On!
