I'm on Catilina Island for a few days. Its LA County and gas is $7.03 per gallon. Glad I'm driving a golf cart.

Wow, that's got to be the highest in the nation.

My area is not as bad just yet. Even though both of my lil ninjas average 55-68mpg, the daily morning frosts now are making me appreciate a heated rig. If diesel keeps going up, I may just spend that money on gearing up for the cold better instead.

Yowsa!!! Our prices have *fallen* a few cents in the past couple weeks. I can easily find regular at $3.69 here (Utah).

I would LOVE to ride the KLX to work and save the extra cash in gas, but I'm just not acclimated to this damned North Dakota weather and it's just too cold to ride. Maybe after my first winter up here I'll still be riding at this time next year.

Talk about win-win!
We pay over $6 for a US Gallon

I just filled up my truck @ $3.89 per gallon here in the heart of the Bakkan Oil Boom.

Thanks guys!!!
KLX payment = $100 a month
Gas = not even sure, but less than $100 a month
That leaves an extra $100 a month = all the farkles so far, w/o spending any extra cash than I was before!
Next up on the savings purchase list - a windshield for blocking that cold wind at 60mph, on the now prevalent frosty morning rides. Then battery powered heated gear,
then new tires and studs.
After all that is done, it just becomes savings. Unless I resurrect the cage, which seems to be sinking into the ground, I used to love driving my car, now I hate it.
Even freezing my butt off, I have a better time riding the KLX.
8000 miles since the 30th of March, rain or shine(600 miles in the cage).
The only bummer, my 90lb dog can't go to work with me on the bike. Hmmm.....can you say trailer? I wonder..... Might go for a sidecar (to carry the dog) on the KLX650 if I get it going...
Yeah, I tell myself it's about savings, but it's really about the bikes (and yeah, I'm single, and yeah, I've taken the bike apart in my living room, multiple times).
You are the man if you've commuted 8K miles in California traffic since March!

Uh, I'm in N. New Hampshire actually, those are miles commuting into Maine for work. That's why I need heated gear and studded tires, and soon. There were snow flurries last night and the mtn tops are turning white from hoar frost and snow. I'm so not ready...
I have been to and lived in CA. Was just in Big Sur watching the scenery go by and dying to be on a bike.
I wish lane splitting were legal everywhere...but that's another matter.
