Default Here we go

Ok, complete novice here but after reading all the threads about how to install the dyno jet kit I went for it this morning. Long story short " success " so thanks to all who submitted the know how, I thank you.

I also installed the FMF header " power bomb " and muffler, could not have been easier, everything lined up perfect. One thing though its plenty loud, I have the power core 4 muffler, how is this different than the Q4? is it just the tip? I read somewhere in here where someone welded a cap on the end of the tip and then drilled a bunch of holes and he said that helped, is there a pic of this? Can one buy the Q4 tip for the powercore 4?

i installed exact same today with KCR smog removal and the koubalink fuel screw. I dont think the FMF is too loud. I also removed the SA screen. Plenty of air blowing out of the tail pipe...

I just did a dynojet stage 2 and fmf power core four as well. You are right, that thing is really loud. I did some reading and found out that they make a quiet insert that takes some of the noise out of it. It does require you to pull the end cap to slide it in. It is essentially like the Q4 after that, but will never be quite as quiet. The Q4 is a longer muffler. Longer=more space to absorb sound.

Like Keysersose said, the Q4 is a whole different muffler. I have noticed a few guys getting the powercore 4 lately. Is the power core 4 less expensive than the Q4? Just wondering what is what the draw to the powercore is?
Glad the whole install went smoothly. Nothing worse than getting halfway into a project and then having trouble. This forum is a goldmine for info.

Pretty amazing, I did the Power Bomb header and Power Core 4 (Cheaper!) muffler along with the DynoJet Stage 2 jet kit yesterday! It is like we all knew.... just do it!

Took about an hour and 15 minuts with a few guys poking at it and arguing over how to do it.

Starting the process. This did not take long with 4 guys and a case of beer on hand!

Bob says.... Hey Larry.... whoever made that carb fit in there so you can not jerk it out the side..... this is a messege to them!

Why in the world did you take off the intake manifold and the boot to the airbox? You know the carb falls right out of those rubbers right?

Ahhh, Killian's red.

I dont read instructions, and we were bound and determined to not remove the tank, and pull that thing out the side. So one by one, parts fell away. When the engine was considered to be next removed.... we finally pulled the frigging tank!
