Helped a fellow KLX'r
I was walking out of the local non Kawi dealership with a friend and Bam theres an 07 KLX parked next to mine, I couldn't believe it. I don't usually see other D/S bikes around here nevermind a KLX.
The guy was on a long road trip he had pulled over for a pit stop and ended up breaking his clutch lever. The dealership had a close enough replacement that needed a bit of grinding to work. He went back in and asked if they could help but the dealership isn't allowed to use or have grinders WTF! I offered to have him follow us home for a fix he did and we got the bike patched up. We chatted for a bit I had mentioned the forum and he knew about it but didn't post. So I'm sure he will read this eventually. Cool guy I was more than happy to help out I just hope he made it home safe.

the 650 uses the same lever... mine's a two finger lever too. works well with bark busters though.

Nice work helping out a fellow KLXer, (I'm sure you would have helped no matter what he was riding). The grinder thing is crazy! Must be embarrassing to be the mechanic and try to explain that.

They aren't a true mechanic if they don't have a grinder. That's why they call them "technicians".
I'll NEVER take a bike to a dealership. Not even for a "free oil change". Repairing their mistakes is more of a hassle than anything they can do for my bikes for "free".
Sorry to those that work in dealerships...I'm sure some of you are fine mechanics...but, oh-too-many are not. Reminds me of the saying about lawyers: 99% of them give all the rest of them a bad name.
