Help, wont start
I parked my 09 KLX250s a few weeks ago in the garage with a full tank of gas and the petcock was on. I had a problem with my hand so I wasnt able to ride during this time. Today, it was a bit chilly but I was ready to get her back out and ride her to work. I could not get it started at all. Choke, no choke, half choke, wouldnt even kick once. Just spun and spun. Tried for like 10 minutes. Whats the best way for me to get this bike running? First time I ever had any trouble starting her.
1. Turn off the petcock
2. Open the carb bowl drain (It's either a hex or phillps I don't remember) and let the bowl drain completely.
3. Close the drain
4. Open the petcock and try it again. It should start right up.

What was said above, with this addition. The next time you think it might be a week or more that the bike will sit, turn off the fuel and let the engine run at least half of what is left in the bowl out. The next time you go to ride, turn on the fuel, wait for a few seconds and it will start right up....guaranteed.
I usually turn off the gas when its going to sit, but I had an unexpected spider bite on my hand and forgot all about it, was afraid it wouldnt start today and it didnt. Im going to go home after work and drain it, hopefully it will fire.
