Hello anybody,
I'm new to this site. I bought a 07 KLX250s two months ago. My first thumper. Have always had 2strokers. This is a new experience. I raced Motocrossfrom 69-75 in So. Calif. So this kinda dates me, First race bike was a modified 69 Kawasaki90 running at 21 HP. Yes 100cc class back in the stone age. Next a 71 Bultaco 250 Pursang 38+HP. I raced at Bay Marein Moorpark, Ca. Indian Dunes, Valiencia, Ca, Dead Mans Point, Apple Valley, Ca.Hope Town, Simi Valley, Ca. Etc. Anyway I just purchased an FMF Q4 Pipe, power bomb header& a FMF power up jet kit. Have also opened up the case breather in the air box. Any help on mods for the KLX will be appreciated. Attached photo is of my other toy VW BajaI built, built theengine also2110 stroker dual webers & all that stuff. Pushes 150 HP, Top speed 120+ I backed off at 120 scarry. Will post a photo of my bike when the wife gets back from Mesa, Az. ,she has the camera

There are many good places to ride there. St. george, Utah. I now live in Preston, Idaho. Many awsome places to ride here also. St. George has fantastic desert riding. Preston is inthe Cache Valley, west side ofthe Rocky Mountains. Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome! A lotof the guys on here are returning to riding in the dirt after being away for a while. I haven't been in the dirt for 25 years now I love it again! I have been on sport bikes since the early 80's. Hope you enjoy your bike!

You know you will have to re-gear your bike to get a massive improvement in the lower gears. Try a search on this site you will find out tons of info. Good luck!

Welcome to the site Jeffery (The YIZ) Glad you found us, I'm sure it won't be long before you are an expert on the bike given your background. Also of course we need some pics of the riding areas soon. Again welcome.

You've taken care of the mods mostly, aside from that you could get some head work done, go to the 300, or 331, or 340 big bore kit, re gear it, larger gas tank, setup the suspension for your weight and riding style...........beyond that its mostly cosmetic changes.

Haven't got the pipe yet, backordered until August. Have the jet kit, and a valve shim kit to adjust the valvesbut I'mwaiting for The pipe. From the reasearch I've done it's the best one for the KLX. Any input on setting up the suspension would be appreciated. I'm 5' 10" 165lbs. Don't want to drop the suspension I like the height, great for the mountian trails around here. I'm going to do the 300 kit when the top end wears out. Thanks for the welcome. Haven't had a bike for 14 years, bad hip from old injury, just had hip replaced= new bike.Pictures will follow when the wife gets back from Mesa, she has the camera, takingpictures of our first grandson. P.S. The YIZ or YIZLT is from when Irode a YZ250.
