My brother lives in Tuscarawas County and I live just north of Columbus, 900-1000 ft.

Look at the KLX250 cheap mods link in my signature for what we did. It is pretty much what was developed by the earlier KLX riders back in 06-08. My brother runs an 06 and I an 09 using the jetting listed in the document. We have a 40 pilot, we drilled the slide and also drilled the starter jet, have the N1-TC needle in the second notch from the top. That is where we diverge slightly. He has the 128 main and I the 125. He jetted first then added a Dial-A-Jet to smooth out some lean spots, so he has the slightly richer jetting. I went with the leaner main, because I did the Dial-A-Jet first and went with the leaner main. Both work well. We thrash around SE Ohio whenever possible.

Since you are running your bike in "standard Stage 2 trim" at 1K ASL, get the DJ 2152 kit and install as per instructions.

You'll need to check your slide lift port to see if a previous owner went "drill happy" on your carb. If a 7/64 bit will slide into that port, its been drilled - in which case, you will need to verify that you have a stock slide spring as that is what you will need to run instead of the DJ spring in the 2152 kit..

There is one other option that might make more sense...

Take the cost of the jetting kit and put it toward a Mikuni TM36-68 set up for the KLX250. A majority of the comments I've seen on that conversion have been positive. Some say it is the best bang for the buck, whether the bike is stock or has the pipe.

I'd say if you post a question you would find how the whole thing works. No doubt about it though, the pumper carbs are definitely higher performance options. Not just for the KLX250, but also for most all other bikes with CV carbs.

Just another avenue for max performance. When you "yank the cable" the slide opens, no vacuum needed, plus that little squirt of fuel to add a bit more "instant" to it.

Mine came from bill blue (b and b cycle restoration). he modifies it to adapt to the klx throttle cable etc. (and also set it up for my altitude and exhaust) the accelerator pump makes a huge difference in throttle response.

I believe its the tm36-68.

Bill does a 33/34 Page 2
He'll get it jetted for you.

The TM36-68 is different and you'll need to buy jets to replace the stock ones.

A bit of research here can get the jetting for the TM36-68. It may be possible to contact a seller and get it pre-jetted.

Just remember that the CVK "self adjusts" for higher altitudes - pumper carbs do not.

This may or may not be important to you.. To some, that normally ride a large Alt change , this could be most important..
