Default Helmet Cam - Lap at Devil's Ridge MX Track

I thought I posted this, but apparently not, a recent thread reminded me. Nothing too special, just a lap on an MX track. This was a practice day, not a race, of course. I was providing lapper practice for the guys that are actually fast. It's a good time, I highly recommend it.

That looked pretty darn fun!! Thanks.

The KLX250 and the KTM450... Tomato/Tomaaato... Same/Same... Right?

I'll have to sign up for a pratice day out here at Glen Helen sometime.
Thanks for sharing!

That KTM sounds good too!

That looks like fun. It seems like I've been having pains in my body, mostly my left wrist area, that have been holding me back from attacking an MX track the way you did.

Yeah, that little section was pretty awkward for me, esp the first few times through there. At one point, I just pulled off the track and watched what other people were doing. That's actually one of the areas the rear shock was bottoming, not the first little jump going into it, but the little double section just beyond and just before the turn. That turn was all tore up, too.

Just lack of experience on my part. Proper MX suspension would help, too.

Exactly!

Actually, neither bike has any business on the MX track, I don't think, but that doesn't stop idiots like me from doing it anyway.

I have to admit those ruts scare the crap out of me. Uh uh..no way. Put me in 3 feet deep loose sand first before those ruts.

Did it bottom out at about 1:00 in? You hit a nice lil jump and it made an awful racket when you hit LOL

There's no way I'd ever race the KLX on ANYTHING like that. I could barely imagine puttering around like that, even. I wouldn't hit none of those jumps, that's for sure.

Yes, bottomed at 1:00 and again at 1:48. Makes it a little hard on the old body. The practice sessions are broken up into approx 20 minute sessions by engine size, so I'd get 20 minutes to play, then we would get called off the track while another class goes on. So during the off-period after that session on the vid, I adjusted the shock compression all the way in and that was just enough to keep from bottoming at the 1:00 table top. But it was still not enough to keep from bottoming at the 1:48 point.
