Default Head bolt torque 34ft/lbs ? 8mm Allen

So the information I have for head bolt torque is initial torque to 11 foot pounds then final torque to 34 foot pounds. Seems like a lot for an 8 millimeter hex. Is that what you guys are doing? I'm guessing anti seize the threads also. That's what I do for most of my engines. Looks like the factory used black moly grease. they were tight tight tight

Waiting on a new head gasket. Every day goes by I'm super tempted to throw the old one in there and ride this thing! Haha

That's for the 4 main head bolts. The small bolt buried down in the cam chain housing(#5 in the manual) only gets torqued to 106 inch/pounds. Others have discovered the hard way about this difference. DO NOT reuse the gasket(unless, of course, if you enjoy repeating tasks).

I have a "calibrated" elbow for old horz hondas but breakin out the torque wrench on this one.

ok, am going with the book 34ft-lbs and 106in-lbs for the side screws.

Now you see the difference-head bolts are 10mm and take 34#/ft(that's 408 pound/inch) while the 6mm bolt only takes 106 #/in.

the honda ct70s I had been restoring have 4 loooong 6mm head bolt/studs with one side screw. if memory serves, those were 100in-lb. thats pretty much a normal range for 6mm fasteners.
