Has anybody re-packed their pipe?
I am going to re-pack my big gun today and would like to know if anybody has done this and can post any pictures. I am pretty sure it is very straightforward procedure but tips would be good.
Thanks,
Francis.
PS Marty are going to the forest on Sunday??

RE: Has anybody re-packed their pipe?
I am a noob at write ups so please bear with me.....
I read that the big gun has to be repacked every 20 hrs..... man I have been way over that.
Anyway headed to cycle gear and got me some 4 stroke muffler packing material 9.99, so far so good.
Then I grabbed me some loctite (thanks bmhd) and went to work.
I am going to upload photos
Took the pipe off the bike and.........
Remove end cap with soft mallet
Pull out race core and old packing material.
Clean before repacking
Roll material around race core
Stuff race core and packing material into pipe ... harder than it seems.....
Make sure that core goes into recieving end in canister and that core aligns with the end cap.. some adjustment necesary.
Loctite bolts.
Done.. About an hour. ready for more thrashing in the forest.....

RE: Has anybody re-packed their pipe?
This is my first write up. I hope it helps as if you don't re-pack damage can result voiding the Warranty.
I know how much you hate having to call Big gun hahahahah

RE: Has anybody re-packed their pipe?
I hate to tell you this, Francis, but your warranty is ALREADY void.
Basically, the warranty boils down to:
We are fairly confident that our products won't fall apart as long as they're sitting on the shelf, but all bets are off if you actually try to use our products.
See this link for details: Big Gun Limited Warranty --> WTF?!??
Great write-up by the way, and thanks for the pics!

I am glad you liked it. I mean it was my first time and this is not big gun packing... And I could not wait for somebody to answer see I have this problem I can't stay i n one place too long... Like a road runner yeah Road Runner thats it..
Anyway there warranty has so many disclaimers it is better to leave it in the box heheheh. I am with you on that.
I think it came out allright . The bike didn't catch fire
