Default Handlebars bent beyond repair ! What are my options?

After 5 or 6 spills and no damage in 2 years, I finally went down in the SAND and bent them beyond repair!

Are there stronger ones, higher ones or should I just look for a stock set? How does anyone who has tried raising them like them raised?

My only stipulation is I want to keep all the stock items and the Acerbis handguards.

just about any aftermarket bars are stronger than stock. also any 7/8" handlebar will fit just about. the cr high bend is what i like.

On the 'alternatives' front.... If your interested in replacing stock, I have a stock handlebar in mint condition I'll part with for $20 plus postage...

Handgaurds are a must those stockers suck, anything that wraps around and gets connected to the inside the handlebars is worth it either brushgaurds or bark busters. I got a set of renthal bars from Dennis KirkP/N 592532for $70.99 wich I think is around the same price as a new set ofOEM bars. As for bar height or raisers Craig lcpl0331would be a good source of information

I would go with anything but the stockers. I have used Protaper, Renthal, Moose, Tag, Sunline , MSR and tusk. These were all in my 7/8" days. All were aluminum except for the cheap steel moose that were as bad as stock. I have found that thay were all pretty much the same. So go with the Tusk I think they are around 25-30 bucks and held up well, the next step up is the MSR for 30-35.

On my KLX I use the 11/8" adapters (about 1/2 rise) with a tall bar. I'm 6'2" and like it where I can stand up and not have to reach down. EMS rode my bike he may be able to comment about the feel over stock. I use the fasst co Flexx bars now (1 1/8 with adapters )and will never go back, but they are pricy. Well worth the money IMO.

I thought about the 1-1/8" bars. I love the way they look and feel I have them on my KTM,but all the stuff I have for my KLX (gps mount, hand guards, all the stock equipment)is for the 7/8" bars so, I went with the TAG, It was on clearance at Cycle Gear for 30.00 List was 75.00. Just look for a deal on clearance items, I think if you are getting thealuminum 7/8" bar they are all about the same.

I have never though about that. It seems like a good point but I don't see how the handlebars will bend your forks. It seems like it would bend the mounts before the forks because the forks seem sturdy enough. I have never seen anyone bend the forks because the handlebars were too strong. I guess it could happen though.

Your bike feels great, perfect dimensions, im 6'1" so we are pretty close, Those flexx bars are the strangest bars i have ever experienced, but cool. Now i know you probably didnt pay for those, lol, what would a set of those bars cost?

except for the cheap steel moose that were as bad as stock.
Same issue here. The Moosecheap steel ones werementioned here in a thread or two, but they seemed to bend easy too. The Renthal ones I have now "seem" better, butthey arenot crash tested yet (by me). Funny because I have had two sets of aluminum bars break on mountain bikes. It is an experience I would rather forget, so I was avoiding aluminum. Thebicycle ones were cheap, andeveryone and their brother uses aluminum so I guess it was just time for me to spend $80 and join the club.
