Okay, I'm sure you guys have addressed this issue before so bear with me - I'm starting to feel like I'm a little too tall for my KLX and need to raise the handlebars or change out the handlebars. Either option sounds like I am limited to the length of the brake or clutch cable which do not extend out a whole lot. What do you guys suggest (something not too expensive and easy for me to install-I'm about average with a wrench)?

 

alot of people got atv bend handle bars... and there is 1" bar risers out there... its what you can afford, bars are more, but risers would be cheaper... and easier. good luck. How tall are you?

 

The risers sound like a cheap way to go, where do I get them? I'm almost 6' 1" with my motocross boots on.

 

i think some people got them off ebay, do a search for them on the forum and im sure you will find what ya need. Wow your as tall as me. I bet you weight alot less though, lol

 

Sorry but I don't do ebay anymore, had too many problems in the past with them. As for the weight, been drinking way too much beer over the summer and not doing much else but working. It's finally cooling down here in the desert and I started riding again but those low bars are driving me nuts!

 

Get a pair of atv raptor bend bars.... they are alot taller.... and easy to put on.... you may need to reroute the clutch cable though, no biggie.

 

I'll see if I can find them on the internet, any suggestions for risers?

 

na sorry, never looked into them, if i were to raise the bars, i would get new bars and no risers, but thats just me.... others might be able to help ya on the bar risers.

They have an adjustable bar riser kit that comes with several different thickness shims to get you up to 1 1/4" rise for $20. Their aluminum bars are $25. I had those on in NJ and everything survived a 30mph spill into the sand. My right handgrip was completely buried in the sand.
