Default Grease them bearings!!

Decided to do a grease routine on all the bearings today. Swing arm bearings had some water contamination. Luckily no corrosion. This is a 2014 less than 2k miles....steering set next..

Good reminder. I'm following along with a little horror story on the KDX forum. The owner is taking a cutting torch or sawsall to the main linkage bolt and having to source a new linkage piece because they are hopelessly corroded together.

I did mine a few months back, my 07 came from MI. Since then put on over 3k. Did the whole rear end used marine grease for the lower pivots and wish bones. HD grease on the main SA bushings and a high grade polish for the SA shaft. Also greased the shock bushings to boot. Caught it just in time the SA shaft had started to slightly pitt but the polishing fixed all that and a **** load of HD grease.

I daily ride my klx, and live in the PNW, so lots of water. This will be an annual routine for this bike. The steering bearings looked brand new, I still loaded them up with Volvo penta marine grease.

As soon as I replace my dead car with something that runs, I'll be doing the same(it's like a spring ritual).
As well as a complete fluid change, suspension included. It will be a long weekend, but afterwards it's nice to know that your bike is good to go.
@MattyTracks - what is the KTM? Does it have 2 kickstands? During my "no kickstand tour" I was wishing for a trail stand or even better, a second kickstand.

96 ktm 400 rxc, I broke my patella in early March and took on the lc4 as a project as I couldn't ride. Runs like a raped ape after some love.
