Did you have any trouble with clearance anywhere? I've heard the Muzzy has an issue with the rear footpegs and I need those to be at full strength so one doesn't pop off with a passenger attached to it. Thanks.

This pipe compared to stock is very loud but for me that is what wanted. This is the same silencer or muffler whatever you want to call it, that a lot of my buddy's that race mx are running. Nice straight through besides the spark arrestor screen. But if your looking for some thing aftermaket but not that loud this same pipe does come in a quiet series instead of the race searies. Still looks the same proably almost the same proformance gain. the quiet series just has a dual chamber muffler, everthing else is the same from what i read in the parts catalog, removable spark arrestor and i would think the same head pipe

What is the reason for the new muffler system? Do you get a performance gain or is it strictly sound you were after?

Huge gain due to the header more than the muffler. However, I also wanted the system I got (Muzzy) for the looks and reduced weight not to mention the really mellow full sound.

I got this exhaust for both to be truthful i love the sound of aftermaket exhaust. i got looking today i have like seven stock systems in my garage from bike of past. But if i had to say either or the performance would be my pick, the bike is amazing compared to stock and im yet to add the jet kit. the post on this forum from others are dead on, the factory has this bike choked to death.

It is a coated system so it does weight a little more than some stainless steel after market systems but nothing that you could notice with out a set of scales.
