Default Going to order guards

Doing some desert riding in two weeks so I wanted to buy some hand guards for if and when I bail. I've decided on the Acerbis Pro Rally X in the green flavor. With that being said I noticed the glue starting to let go on my throttle grip. So I'm going to splurge and buy grips...I figure if I'm doing all this maybe I'll just buy some damn bars too...I like the idea of aluminum to save some weight and I like my stock set up but maybe some thing just slightly taller. Any thoughts?

Perhaps a better title for this thread would have been: "Bar Recommendations wanted"

Moose Controls Competition Handlebars - XC Bend Handlebars Black Perfmoto.com

These fit with the stock cables on my 09. A bit taller than stock, makes riding while standing much easier. The xc bend works well on the klx.

I really like my protaper contours the cr high model. The downside was the clutch cable was too short, so I ordered up a klx300 cable. It's about 2" longer than stock and about $15. They have a nice feel to them sitting or standing and I'm 6'1" and no issues while standing.

I got Zeta oversize bars in Motard-medium bend with 1.5inch bar risers. Wider/taller & a little more forward....Perfect for me at 6'3". Did have to get a KLX300R clutch cable, as stock was to short.

With the bars I got ZETA ARMOR HAND GUARDS Bend with X2 protectors. Very happy with the hole package & looks good as well.

Love this handlebar simulator from Zeta!

I upgraded to ProTaper SE KX High Bends. They are maybe an inch higher than stock and the stock cables are stretched as far as they can go. I'll eventually add risers and get longer cables.

What dictates which bar can be used on our bikes? I want a bar with less width, less sweep, and more height and I used ZETA HANDLE BEND SIMULATOR (great link btw!!!) to find CX mini racer medium. Will this bar work? The clamp is correct at 7/8"...
