When changing sprockets, does the amount of free play in the chain also change? The stock play required is 2.2-2.6 inches. I am considering a 45t rear and leaving the front alone. I see Rocky Mountain is out of stock for the Renthal until January. Motorcycle Superstore does not list a 45t. Also, what is the preferred material, steel or aluminum?

Default RE: Gears and sprockets - Sprocket ratio chart

alrigh, well my dealer ordered me a 14t insted of the 13t that i said i wanted. thanks again bozo... (not the first time, sure its not going to be the last) anway i dont wanna order anthing else from him because i'm afraid he'll just screw it up again... (i think that guys half baked every time i go in...) so i want alittle more low end but still be able to hit the roads with out a problem... so it sounds like the 14/45 would be good for what i'm looking for... keep me off the clutch a little in the woods. I put high miles on my bike really fast (8,500 from august of 07 till today) so i would like a chain and rear sprocket that'll last another year or 8,000 miles or so... any suggestions? guessing steel is the way to go... anyone know of any chain deals going on right now? Thanks for all the input, this post has helped me understand ALOT more then my dealer understands about gearing... he thought that if i went smaller in the front i would lose low end and went higer in the back was like going higer in the front. idiot...

I just installed this weekend a Moose 13T front sproket. PN 1212-0073. This sproket was made for the klx250s.

I like the stock gearing on the 350. I do mostly woods riding.

I was just on ebay and got an RK X-ring chain, and JT steel sprockets for $97 shipped. Also saw another guy selling just the chain for $35 shipped. Dealers and bike shops want $75 plus for that!

Great thread.
I have 13T/42T with the 3.23.
I was considering 13T/45T with a 3.46... Can I use the Stock Chain?
And then will I even feel any difference?

If I go with 13T/47T then I go up to 3.62.. # of Links? anyone does this one?

I[m chaning my rear tire soon, may as well do it then.
Thanks
