Default Garmin oregon 450 gps mount

So, I'm planning on getting a gps and I'm really thinking of going with the garmin oregon 450. However, I cannot find a handle bar mount for this gps device. I have tried amazon, and the garmin web site and there does not seem to be one for this. There are mounts listed for all other oregon models, but not the 450. Can anyone help me out here. Thanks!

I can find a mount for the 450T, but not just the 450!

Sounds like something that you will have to fabricate yourself.

I absolutely hate fabricating mounts.

Yup. Thats what I have. A word of caution though. Place a rubber band to secure your gps in place you ride hard on rough trails. My 450t fell and I didn't notice until a few miles. Luckily no one found it . I was already resigned and thought to charge it to experience. Plastic was Pretty scratched up but still working.

I always carry a GPS...in my pack...and even a SPOT emergency locator. However, I'd be a little leary mounting the GPS up on my handlebar like some of these mounts. If I was riding only on pavement or dirt roads, it wouldn't be an issue. Doesn't anyone make a decent, padded, below-the-handlebar-level mount that kind of protects the unit from tree limbs and crashes?

I have a Garmin Oregon 450T and I used a ball mount that screwed/replaced a bolt in my handlebar top mount. I think that is the best way. If I get a chance this weekend and if I remember I will get a photograph and post it here. The reason I may not remember is I had my wisdom teeth removed last Friday and I have dry socket and with the pain meds, all I really want to do is sleep.

He he he. Busted the ram ball off and scratched the GPSMap76 screen in a Moab bath tub. Also scratched and busted some other parts. What a hoot. With the ram mount, installed correctly, you should be able to tuck the gps way down low so it shouldn't get hit like it did here when it wasn't tucked away.
