Default Fuel Economy

Does anyone know if jetting the carb will increase fuel economy?

Or any other way?

Going to larger jets will decrease your fuel economy.

You can intentionally jet lean for economy but your bike will be harder to start, slow to warm up, etc. More usable gains would come from running smooth hard tires, riding slowly, shutting off on downhills and while stopped at lights, leaving your bike in the garage and walking, and running super tall gears. Really, if 60-70 mpg isn't enough, get a Brammo and plug in.

I don't worry about fuel economy because I'm too busy having fun on my KLX. As dan888 said re-jetting decreases fuel economy but adds power, overall rideability and fun factor.

Exactly, I would guess my re-jetting costs me about 50¢ for every tankful I burn. = money well spent.

I recently burnt 1.5 gallons in 35 miles at tahuya. I was dumbfounded when I hit the gas pump. My buddy has a matching 06 with the same jet setup I have. He also burned 1.5 in 35. I dont think I left 2nd gear but once or twice the whole time.
I get 35-45mpg most of the time off road. On road I have no idea cause, when I ride it on the road its to go OFF road

I get a solid 70 MPG offroad and even stretch it out to 85 MPG on fast flowing trails. The 13/45 gearing lets me run 4/5 and 6 gears most of the time. The CV carb' is the big deal though. With deft throttle control it becomes a fuel miser.

BTW I have a #138 main jet, and the economy is still there.

With the aftermarket pipe, they changed to bigger mains to pump more fuel based on the freer flowing exhaust. So, if you have the stock exhaust you can rejet which will increase your gas mileage. In fact, I'm sure someone here could help you with that.
