Default FSW Full Exhaust?

Hi Folks. I'm new to the forum. I have an '07 that I picked up last November so I don't have much time on it yet, but I've done a few mods like drilling the slide, putting in a KDX snorkel, and messing with jets. It had a 13 T output sprocket on it when I got it. I think it runs fine but I can't lift the front end with throttle and it runs out of steam in the top end. The exhaust is stock. This sounds pretty typical. What I'm wondering is if anyone has tried a full Four Stroke Works exhaust, header and muffler. I see a lot of posts about the FSW header but nothing about the muffler. Mainly I'm wondering how it compares noise-wise to the competition.

Also, would there be any noticeable performance improvement if the FSW header were used with the stock muffler?

Thanks in advance guys (and gals?).

Welcome.

Short answer: Nope! Stock is just too restrictive.

I have no experience with Four Stroke Works.

The 250S muffler is hopeless. Use a 300R one. I had a FSW header--fit so crappy it rubbed the frame & had cheesy paint. I sold it.

Thanks Deej, I aprecciate it.

Well I'm half way there with the full FSW system, having purchased the header. It'll be a while before I spring for the pipe though, and I'd still like to know how loud it is.

Speaking of pipe volume you often see YouTube videos of sound tests for various pipes. The guy starts his machine and it putters away, then he revs it and it's louder, but they never sound THAT loud on the video. What they ought to do is start the machine, rev it as usual, then stand next to it and talk in a normal conversational voice. If all we see is lips moving that says something. Or rev the engine and try shouting over it to be heard. That point is it helps to have a reference to base exhaust noise against. Maybe someone's done this but I haven't seen it.

Mine is 'farkin' loud. Tested at 115db at 5 feet at 5ooo rpm. See the clip. I turn the bike around about 500 metres away. You can still hear it really well. LOUD.

If they are still selling the same design as when they were Stroker, the muffler is loud. I have one sitting on the shelf. I went back to the stock KLX300 muffler. Also, the Stoker one needed to be repacked too often.

Ride on

Any update on the FSW header?
Did it fit OK? Any interference with the oil line?

I'd like to order one for my 07 250.
