Default Front wheel brake spacer

That heavy foam piece in between the brake rotor and spokes on the front wheel, what is the purpose of that? For some reason it looks useless and I wanna rip it out.

It's supposed to quiet any vibrations in the brake rotor. Depending on the riding you do, you might not need it at all. Keep in mind it's a $41 part so try to remove it properly just in case.

it shuts your brakes up during braking. removes brake squeal aka the high pitched sounds

"For some reason it looks useless and I want to rip it out"...that's the logic I always use when working on automotive and motorcycle components that I have no idea what they do.

That's why i asked here before i ripped it out and looked at the price of the piece. I'll be leaving it on but i do already have some high pitch squeaking under braking around 5mph and under till i stop
