Front fender re-mounted lower
I re-mounted the front fender lower by altering the fender, and making a 3 pc. bracket kit.
The front fender has the front portion trimmed off

I pulled out the bolts that hold the upper portion of the fork protectors, and fitted these angle blocks into place with longer bolts
I made this plate from .080" 6061T6 aluminum

The rear of the original fender is now the front
There is now 2.5"' clearance

Nice looking job, Bake, but something about the way it's mounted doesn't seem right.
You have mounted it to the upper, non moving part of the forks, so any bump large enough to cause a compression of more that 2.5" will cause the tire to contact the fender....unless I'm looking at it wrong?
Low fenders for the upside-down forks typically have skirts molded to either side that attach at the very bottom of the forks.
Here's an example:

I'm going to try and use the protectors themselves first go.

NO doubt good eyes Tremor!
All I could think about was the acerbis tank and rally fairing that the 'trev' had on his adv klx build up bike for that rally style look.

I will install 4 small bushings at the protector clamp, so the clamp clears the fork itself.
I'll go with rivets to make the protectors one piece. They will then tie the axle to the fender.

I might be thinking this wrong but I am going to give it shot...Mounting the fender to the top of the fork protectors won't work and here's why i think that...when you hit a bump, pothole or whatever...your fender is going to be rigidly mounted to the top part of the forks thus your tire is going to come in contact with your fender causing a wash out...or you to to superman over the handle bars...I think there needs to be a bracket to the lower part of the forks were it gets bolted to the axel like you said so it will move with the tire and not come in contact with it...Again I could be thinking this wrong so if I am...sorry in advance!

I didn't realize this was just 'phase one' to see how it looks. Currently it's mounted to the fork protector guides, but he plans to mount it to the fork gaurds themselves so that it moves with the front wheel.
Should be an interesting project.
