O.K. i got mine from Dennis Kirk for $180; part # from DK is 43-3980. I cant find any info for a 07 on DK's website, they only show the header avail for the 09. weird.

Default another Frankenpipe story

G'day fellas,Happy new year to all ,here is my story on the Two Bros ,p-bomb combo.I bought it back in May'08 from JCmotors in the US (i'm in Australia),dealt with a guy called Phil Pena ,great service. My bike "07 model already had the 300 kit/jetted and airbox lid removed, otherwise stock, after much pondering i took achance on this combo ,not sure if it would fit but finally got to fit it these christmas holidays.First i started with the crankcase breather by using a small pod filter and found a noticeable seat of the pants difference, mainly more response and free reving.Next was the 2bros slip on ,once gasket inside the head pipe was removed it bolted straight in,took it for a ride and yipee more power again, free reving, torque gain and LOUD!!Next came the p-bomb,the finish on mine was great,no complaints but the flare for the midpipe was very suttle so the mid pipe didn't go in far and was tight.I overcame this by sanding the inside of the header a bit to remove the tiny lip of the inside join and gently worked the midpipe around and in and out until it fit in all the way, fits nice and snug, next problem was the original clamp was too large so i sourced a smaller one from a local bike exhaust repairer, all good now.Tightened the head pipe clamp at the head to the factory recommended 25nm and mine too bent a little, the FMF plate is thinner than the factory one,oh well doesn't leak.
Finally time to fire up and test ride, the header gave it a slightly quieter and deeper note but it is still loud, not as loud as my old XR400 with Bills pipes muffler, took it for a ride and yes more grunt again, more torque, snappier throttle and pulls hard through the mid to top,i love it makes me want to ride all day now,no more postie bike sound.May try the P1 tip to take the edge off the noise but i love the sound looks great too.Yes i will try and post a picture soon.FYI the inside diameter of the stock 250 header is about 26mm,p-bomb a bit over 31mm, so a 5mm dia gain, hence its better breathing.Got some Renthal bars for xmas and new grips so thats my next job and rear sprocket change to go with my new DID x-ring chain, any suggestion on rear sprocket size, was thinking 46,47???
So there you go anyone thinking of a Frankenpipe ,just do it, it will fit and does work and the 2bros muffler doesn't look like an anti-aircraft launcher out back.
Cheers.
