Fork springs, 06 250s
Got a leaky fork seal unfortunately, so it's time to dig in (or barder some beer to have someone help) and figured I'd get the proper springs up front while I'm at it.
I've read that klx300 springs from 06 will fit, elsewhere I've read that the length is different?
Also curious as to what fork oil to use. I'm thinking 10w would be nice being as I'm a bigger guy and with the stiffer springs.

I just re-sprung my 07 for my weight with Race Tec springs made a huge difference..
My right fork seal started leaking afterwards. I cut a piece of plastic from a old milk bottle and used it to clean the seal. I had to pull the dust seal down and wipe everything clean first, and then bounce it a bunch of times after cleaning the seal, to get the seal to reseal. Wipe everything clean after every 10 bounces. It worked great after about 50 bounces of the front forks. Try cleaning the seal before replacement. Search the web for You Tubes on how to do it. Some say 90% of seal replacements are not necessary, they just need cleaning.
The springs I ordered were for a KLX300 and the length was a little shorter, but according the provided instructions the pre-load was correct based on my measurements. Fork Oil is fork oil I don't think the brand matters. Good luck

That was my experience too with the stiffer springs. Now, if you're going through sets of big bumps and notice the forks still jamming with the hits getting harder and harder, because the rebound flow is lacking, think about Race Tech gold valves. They really improve the ride when working the forks hard with improved rebound flow.
