I'd say you should pull the front wheel off and remove the speedo mechanism because I don't think its long enough for you to pull the forks all the way out of the triple clamps. Be sure to LOOSEN (only loosen) the 4 pinch bolts before trying to remove the axle. They're called pinch bolts for a reason.

Just though I'd give my 2cents over here.Usually we run after market graphics because the stock ones are crap and the usually peel off or get black from our knees banging against the shrouds. The anodized drain plugs are aircraft grade aluminum magnetic to catch any debris from the oil. If you change your oil all the time it's easy to wear the stock ones out. The colored radiator hoses are made from high temp reinforced silicone that resist uv rays and water / oxygen deteririoration and do not expand or get soft like the stock ones do. I just saying their a reason for all after maket parts not just to bling it out.

I'm about to order oil to redo my fork seals, and i'll be ordering the Service Manual at the same time. Since I don't have one yet, can somebody with a service manual tell me what weight and what volume of oil is required for a single fork?

I too have been bitten by the leaky fork seal bug, going out to try and clean some crud and see if that cures it. Its not leaving puddles jet but big rings on the forks.

Another seal cleaning tool is Kodak photo paper cut to size, smooth, ridgid, and holds up well to the fork oil.
