I was looking for folding Clutch and brake levers. Reg ones bend easy. I have done a search on this site and came up with nothin'. No Brakes Do you know if the KTM Folding levers would work since you have owned both. Any help would be appreciated.

google motosport outlet (i think that the name). I get they're catalog all the time and i think they have some made by ASV. they're really expensive though. do have barkbuster on your bike? i've been down a hundred times and have never bent a lever with them on the bike. just my .02.

 

Like lcpl0331 said, google for ASV levers. They are pricey - I liked the shorty version of the clutch - two finger operation and it doesn't smash your other fingers when you pull. I liked them a lot, but its probably more personal setup preference than anything. The stock brake lever was fine - never felt the need to go shorty with that.

I'd have no idea if the KTM levers would work - I'm using the stock KTM levers and don't plan on changing them out. They seem to work fine, so no point in changing them out.

 

Thanks Guys, I am going to order aset of the ASV C/5 CNC machined universal levers $90.00 US a piece So my visa is going to get a $250.00CDN charge OUCH!!! oh well No different than upgrading one of my R/C cars. NoBrakes I bent it when Itipped over on a hill. I bent the lever ( Not bad but I hate the feel of the levers being different) as well aas broke the stock hand gaurd. Not a scratch anywhere else on the Bike though.

I've got ASV shorty levers on both sides. Here are some pics. Keep in mind that when you change the front brake lever you will lose you brake light function for the front and also you will have to modify the perch to keep the lever from flopping around. In the third pic you will see what I'm talking about. I had to drill the perch and install a roll pin.

Was the brake lever a shorty by default? ...or did you need to specify that it?

What an adventure! I had to go back and find the invoice from 6/2/06. Makes me realize how much has been spent on this toy!

There are probably other combinations that will work but I got my ASV levers from http://rageperformance.com/control_cables.htm

The part numbers that I used are: BHF30-K (ASV F3 Brake Lever - Black 24)
CMF30-K (ASV 3 Year Clutch Lever - Black 24)

Back then they were 59.95 each and I also got the RCU01-K Rotator Clamp for free.
And yes, the brake lever was a shorty by default.

Ahah! Gary, your photos were just what I was looking for. I was going to post a question about how to keep the brake lever from flopping around and there's the solution.

I installed the levers last night. I found that the reach adjuster on the brake lever side was hitting on the switch assembly and I removed the setscrew. Turns out the the reach is just the way I like it all the way in.

Nobrakes reported that the brake light function is now gone for the front brake. I don't care about that, but it appears that the brake light function is disabled for the rear brake as well. I'm not sure if the brake light is always on or doesn't come on. Did you need to jumper anything for the brake light operation?

What size roll pin is that? ...drill size?

Also have you noticed that there is a little bit of up and down slop in the brake lever? If so, did you do anything about it. I wanted to, but didn't have a thin enough washer on hand.
