Tearing her down for the winter. I pulled the motor out and all that jazz......would really like to split the header from the silencer. Let's just say she fits real nice together... not so nice to get apart! Ideas? 09 KLX 250s

 

did to try to remove the slip on first while the header was still bolted on?..if you remove the header first, it's really hard to pull apart...

 

The motor's out. Couldn't separate the two, just left it hang to the side. Had to drop the swingarm to pull the whole works out. It's a power bomb header, Q4 silencer. It fit super tight when I put it on 2 years ago. I'll put the silencer bolts back in, try twisting the header. I don't think this is gonna happen. Thought about putting heat on, no need to ruin a good lookin pipe to begin with. Maybe if I wrap the header up with tshirts and put on the bench vise, try to work it out that way. Someone has had to have gone through this!??

 

I just wrapped a t-shirt around the header near the joint, good old WD40, she popped right out! No teeth marks! I even used a FMF t-shirt. Thanx man!!

 

i had to bolt it in to twist it off...it was not easy...
