i was told the 06 and 07 are different...

The 2006 and 2007 KLX250S use the exact same pipe/header, FMF's website show that parts available for the 06 but I assure you they fit both years.

let me add the following, after 2 hours going through threads
i couldnt find a shop offering all i need to realize:

13/45 with proper chain (108?)

can someone supply link to products, renthal or other hq brands would work

for the chain and sprocket question i went 13/45 also, and used a brand called PBI available in the western powersports offroad catalog. i believe any decent shop can order from them. for chain i used an EK o-ring 120 links and just cut off the extra. great gearing choice.

 

Just did the 45 back (had the 13 on the front). the 108 link is fine. Had to put the adjusters on 6... so I am thinking you MAY get away with the stock chain. Not sure. However, 108 did not require the grind..... just put it on and drove her.
