Default First real road trip

Ok so here is the dealio. Me an 3 other guys are planning a trip from Washington (Port Angeles) Across on the ferry to Victoria and up to Cowichan Lake. I would like to hear from those of you who have done a few days on the bike. The things to not forget and the things to definately leave behind. I'm taking a dufflebag, really small tent, small sleeping bag, and of course my new water and gas tanks. Oh and a pad to sleep on, (I'm too old to be sleeping on the hard ground. Anyway, what are your thoughts. Please don't include comments like wow that's too far to take the KLX or its too much weight for the bike, or What are you crazy?

Here are a few links to the area.

So if you look for forks on the peninsula of Washington and follow the road to Port Angeles and across the ferry and then up to that big lake, that's where we are thinking of heading.

Not sure if the links are going to work or not.

What is the route?
SW then north thru the mountains following the river?
Or HWY 1 the west (boring)?
What other bike are going along?

Extra Front tube, extra master link, small hand pump, tube patches, rubber cement, spark plug, cell phone, first aid kit, tool kit, tiolet paper, hand sanitizer, sounds like alot but When I ride I carry all of this.

Have fun be safe.

Thanks Kevin, the only thing on that list I don't have is a tire patch kit, good thinking man.

Another good idea, thanks Bad Bear, wow this is helping a lot. I also have a tank bag, for the small stuff and a map window.

You can find a tire kit with eveything in it and a nice case for less than $10.
