Default First Oil Change - Need Torque Specs

So I've waited probly a BIT longer than I should have to do the first oil change but I wanna go out riding again this morning so I want this out of the way before I go. I know the owners manual gives a spec for the drain plug but what about the two filter cover bolts? I have the FSM on order but it's not here yet (hopefully Brown Santa shows up soon) and I don't wanna go TOO tight and strip the threads in the crankcase. Any suggestions?

Drain plug is 15 Nm. torque. Try 8 Nm torque for the filter cover. Works for me, no leaks yet.

Wow, you actually torque the drain plug and filter cover. I usually just snug the bolts on with a 1/4" rachet. 8mm for the filter cover, 14mm for the drain plug.

The only bolts I've ever torqued are internals.

For the oil drain plug - make it tight. For the filter cap bolts, snug them with a small wrench.

done. Don't try to make simple things hard

Oil change is done and I just snugged everything up German and ran it....no leaks so we're good but thanks anyways! The oil that came out however was blacker than Satan's heart.......and the filter looked like crap but I guess that's expected for the first 400km Now she's all good to go for today.
