Even thou the Owner's Manual is not clear about the oil.
Not clear? It tells you exactly what standard of oil has to be put in it. I brought it with me the first time looking for oil and found it using the manual.

2nd, and5 minutes on google will tell you evenmore than you ever wantedtoknow. Of course,I brought neither of these items with me...

Anyway, I'm going to leave it for now. I'll swap it out sooner ratherthan later or if I lineup for a long ride in the near future, but I guess I'm not too worried about it.

I don't understand why you guys go through the trouble of laying it down. [&:] A dab of grease on the spring holds it in place.
+1 on the grease trick, works everytime.

The Castrol GTX has detergents in it that are harmful to the bikes clutch plates Etc. You want to use a oil that is formulated for 4-stroke motorcycles. After the break in period I would suggest a synthetic oil like Amsoil, Redline, Etc. I use Amsoil 10-40. Hope this helps.
Really?

I've got half Castrol GTX and half generic 4-stroke motorcycle oil in my bike right now, and she seems to be doing fine. Both are 10w40

Hope I don't **** up my clutch plates

Well, if I just you know, never use it again, you think I should be fine off?

Because it seems kind of like a waste to toss oil with only 200mi on it down the drain.

I'm using Mobil 14-stroke bike oil. My local Autozone carries it which makes it more convenient to buy than the otherquality synthetics.

Car oil won't cause clutch slippage. The detergent in the oil causesexcessive wear on the clutch disks. Shop mechanic told me this. Car oil is not good for bikes![sm=noooo.gif]
+1 Please just redo the oil change with synthetic Motorcycle oil designed for wet clutches.
