Thanks for all of the daunting information that I got from all the contributors to this site.
I finally opted for the Big Gun Exhaust, complete system, to go on the new KLX250S.

Looking forward to getting it next week.

 

[sm=smiley32.gif]On the BG choice,did I just say that? Now why did you choose the BG over two brothers,muzzy,FMF? Personal choice,price or performance #'s.. I had to ask.

 

Man oh man! I was afraid that someonemight ask me that!! Well, to tell you the truth, I started out by looking at all the mountains of information on this site, and others. After I thought that my eyes needed new glasses.... I gave up and went to the dealership in Medford, OR. They started to offer me even more confusion by telling me that they wouldn't recomend the BG due to poor maintenance issues. (Needed frequent repackingetc.) They wanted me to buy the Two Brothers, which was less money. I went back to the 'puter and studied some more. Read and read, and then read some more. Finally, totaly pisssssed! I just went back to my original preference and bought the BG EVO-X, complete system from the dealership.

Odd, I guess,but I was mostly persuaded by IowaGuys favorablecomments.So, thanks, IG for your insight. I also like the looks of the can.... it's the red tip, I guess!!! Ha!

 

FMF is the best pipe! With the powerbomb head pipe it flows better than any of the others. Better performance through the entire power band. It also has a forestry approved spark arrestor that can be removed.

 

I have the power bomb header with the big gun muffler I just like to be differnt.

 

I put a big gun EVO X full system on mine about three weeks ago and have to say I really like it.it sounds great and makes good power.I went with a 128 main,needle in the 4 clip and 2 1/2 turns out and the bike runs perfect.I had no problems with the pipe hitting the air box.The only problem I had was when I ordered the quiet core they sent me the wrong size but I have talked to them and they are sending mea different one.I am very happy with my decision to go with the BG.

Congrats on the new pipe. Anything is better than the stocker. I have seen the BG in person on the klx and it is a very nice looking pipe.

 

I might be crazy, but I think I might sell the muzzy full system, and go back to stock or find the quietest aftermarket muffler. I went riding with a friend last week and hit questionable legal offroad riding areas. My friends klr 650 is stock and real quiet almost stealth like. Mine on the other hand leaves no doubt as to where I am exactly in the woods. I've heard some people put on the klx 300 pipe, so I'll look into that maybe.

 

you'll be giving up quite a bit of performance going back to the stock pipe. the 2-brothers pipe is quiet compared to the muzzy. i'd bet the fmf is quiet also. jmo

 

Is it a very noticable difference in sound?
