Default Finally an attractive street bike from Japan

Looks like my next bike is out. Maybe I should wait a year or two in case there are any new model gremlins. Momma ain't gonna be happy I spent the vacation money.
I wonder if they are going to give the z650 the same treatment? This looks like the best looking bike since the ZRX1200.

"Finally an attractive bike from Japan"????? snapster, I guess you know they made one at least as far back as 1973. This new model could even be mistaken on a drive-by as a '73 Z1 900. I had one of those and loved it. In fact when I had a later model, 1979 1000, I was able to attach the tail section and gas tank from a 73 in that orange and rootbeer brown. IMO that was one of the best looking and best color schemed bikes Kaw ever made.

I'm mainly messing with you about about your statement. I'm guessing you meant, "Finally an attractive bike from Japan in a very long time"....if I'm not putting words in your mouth...LOL! That new model really is good looking. Funny how manufacturers have been on a little retro tour down memory lane...Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, etc.

I thought my 1969 cb350 was a pretty little bike in red and white like the attached pic. I just can't bring myself to buy an insectoid transformer kabuki comic book looking bike like they seem to love to make over there in the far east. I was actually looking at the Harley Street Rod. A friend of mine just got one and I am hoping to get a spin on it but if I can get this Kawi z900rs for around the same price I can't go for a HD.

I like it! I forgot about the root beer brown that was a great color.

I really like the orange and brown. The retro look is definitely in right now.

Default Ahhh yes the soundtrack of my youth

Ahh yes the soundtrack of my youth. The original Mad Max movie was all Kwaka 9's and 750 Honda's running four into one exhausts. From memory it was called something different in the US. Road Warrior or something!

That new Z900RS is a great looking bike! With a list price of $11K U.S., sounds like it's a lot of bike for the money. Here's a recent review by Revzilla that really goes into good detail about the quality of the different components: https://www.revzilla.com/common-trea...orcycle-review

The dealership I used to work at part time has one on the floor. I'm impressed how well they tried to follow the old style cues of the '73. Not easy with upside down forks and single shock, but they did a good job. I had a '73, '77, and a '79. I loved those models from that era. The '73 paint job was the best for my preference. I even used the body work and paint from a '73 on my '79. It's funny how we have modern retro muscle cars like the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger...might as well have a retro Z-1.
