You oil the filter, put the filter over the cage then stretch the filter sock over the filter

Put the filter back in the airbox. I thought afterwards it may have been better to put the sock over the wingnut instead of putting a hole in the sock for the bolt to go through?

The idea of the filter sox is so it is easy to replace the sox instead of always cleaning the filter, esp if on a multi day ride where you may clean your filter daily. You can buy filter sox "made for motorcycles" but these cost heaps more than the pool filter sox I bought from the pool shop. I bought 5 pool filter sox for the price of 1 "designed for bikes" filter sock.

Another thing I just thought of pulling the filter foam off that brass thing in the middle of the filter and maybe tearing the foam one day by using the filter sox you dont have to pull the foam off the cage therefore eliminating any risk of tearing the filter foam

Cheers

id be curious to see how it works with some mud i would think it would clog alot sooner than the foam filter... but then again its more easily cleaned....

Kind of like a condom for an air filter.

H'mmm carry a spare with you when you ride in dirt - deej not apply - and when you feel the bike starting to slow down, just change the cover and keep on truckin'!

I like it!
