figured out noise, leave chainguard on
I dont know if yall remember but a while back i metioned a wierd noise. i havent had time to investigate it since then but i finally did today. i was convinced all along it was something to do with the chain. when riding hard offroad you could hear it hitting somewhere, at first i thought it was hitting the metal case gaurd under the countershaft sprocket cover, nope. i took my chaingaurd off to make cleaning easier, turns out it was hitting the top of the front mounting flange. i taped it up with thick tape and tested it out and noise gone! so i would suggest leaving gaurd on or cut flange off. keith

I lowered the back using Kouba. Ever since, I hear a noise like the chain is rubbing against something plastic ... flutter sound. It make this noise when the rear is compressed. Is this the same noise as the one you're describing?

yeah. the foward piece that the chainguard mounting bolt goes into that sticks up.
this noise was more of a clanking metal sound not plastic and was very noticable but it was only when accelerating hard while going over bumps fast or wheelies

Most likely you just bent it because i had the same problem that stock chaine gard is really wimpy a tap from a rock and it was bent so you probably just need to replace it with a aftermarket one good luck

My chain guard is also off - no noise or hitting on mounting tab.
Was your chain tension right?
Also if you're not running an O-ring chain, you may have a little more side-ways flex in your chain which could result in it hitting that tab?
