I did a thread on a 5-6 hour ride I did on the stock bike with no comfort mods, it was mostly interstate and was nearly WOT the whole time. I passed more cars and trucks on that ride than I could believe. When I got home I walked like a caveman for most of that evening and needed a good bit of tequila to feel good afterward. That being said if I had to do it again I would, I have a more street friendly sport bike now and it would be my first choice, but the klx was fine.

I'm planning on a 5-6000km ride on mine in a few weeks..... got a Seat Concepts seat for it a few weeks ago but have hardly ridden with it so far.... too busy making racks for the bike. Will let you know how it went when I get back

I can only do 3-4 hours on the stock seat. Toward the end of that time I'm standing and fidgeting a lot to keep the numbness at bay. I thought I would build up some tolerance over time, but I have not... So I stand more during my long rides.

If you can afford it, get the Seat Concepts kit.

I haven't yet done any long rides on my klx, I haven't had it long enough yet. Although have done two long trips on my 94 klr250. First one was 2,300 miles and the other one was 1,600 miles. I wrote ride reports for both trips on advrider. Here's the links to both.

2300 miles on a 250 all for a sticker - ADVrider

A fall ride to the UP on the little 250 that could - ADVrider

I'll take the klx on an epic trip eventually as the little klr250 has just over 40,000 miles on it now.

Ok well you beat me by an hour and a half....It`s the worst part of the bike imho.

Yep planning on it for sure.

Yes please do! Love to see how that seat does on a long ride.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed. I really like taking long trips on small bikes.
