Alright, pard. Try not to be a stranger.
If you want something that does sustained freeway speeds, my thinking is that somethingmore along the lines of a KTM 640adventure, KLR650, 650GSor the likes would be more suitable.
Just make sureto do plenty of research before buying.
Good luck! Post some pics of the new ride whenever you pick it up.

BTW .... personnally I would recommend a 640 adv, but my opinion is biased from experience and sore cheek muscles from grinning...just sayin

hey, what do you think of an 07 aprilia 550 SVX w/ 1000 miles on it, selling used for 6,300 or best offer... i'm thinking parts are going to be really expensive. its an italian bike, correct? humm... so many choices

They had a dual sport "big bike" shootout in DIRTBIKE mag a couple months ago and had good things to say about the Aprilia. It is also a very nice looking bike and I think it will do highway speeds pretty easily.

maxx, you should do a lot of research on those aprilia's. they had huge issues with them a couple years ago. for that type of money you should go with the ktm. they're better bikes all around.

sick, thanks for the heads up on the aprilia... do you know what kinda issues they were having? someone else also said that you have to drop the whole engine out of the frame just to check valves. i think i'm starting to lean more tward the ktm625

RE: Farewell my friends...
not really. the fuel injection was a big problem i think. go for the KTM. better bike....less headache. a lot better dealer network too. try CLIFF'S CYCLES in Norfolk, ma. he's small but very good.

RE: Farewell my friends...
i think i'm in trouble... i sat on an o7 ktm 950 super moto.... i cant stop thinking about it. one part says, just do it get a dirt bike later... the other half says, dont do it, you'll be missing out on the dirt sessions forever. lol its so confusing. haha, thoes two exc's are excatly what i should be after. just gotta see what the situation at the bank is, might not be able to pull another loan till this spring. if thats the case, then i might be getting two bikes at once... lol ideally a ktm950 sm and a dtm 450 exc... but thats a huge purchase. lol
