Default Extended Side Stand Options

I installed some 1" raising links on my 2014 KLX last night. The side stand still works, but I'd like it better if it was extended by 3/4" to 1". Does anybody know of any options out there other than cutting and welding?

I did a quick measurement this morning...the stock stand is approximately 350mm from the foot to the center of the mounting bolt. I'm curious if the 06-07 models had a longer stand. It's my understanding those had a little bit more in the suspension department. EDIT: it looks like the 06-07 stands have a different spring attachment point.

Any ideas?

Default Primitive Solution

Primitive but effective, I attached a 3/4" block of treated plywood to the bottom of the stand. It's about 3" in diameter and held with a 1/4" carriage bolt. This does require drilling a single hole in the stand foot. Not only does it lengthen the stand, but also provides better support in soft conditions.

It does look a little clunky.

I did some quick searching this morning and it seems that the Versys and KLX share the same footpad dimension. There are several side stand pads available on ebay. I had one of these on my KTM690, and it worked OK to add a little bit of additional height to the stand when I was using 17" SM wheels. I may try a pad for the KLX and see if it adds enough height to make me happy.
