Default Exhaust Trade

I have a Two Brothers slip-on from my 07 KLX250 that I'd like to trade for an FMF for the same bike. It's in great shape with very few hours and includes a P4 tip and screen. Thanks

Default Am I nuts?

OK, I'm going to try and quiet my Two Brothers muffler. I really like it, it's just a tad loud. I've inverted the P4 tip and put the spark arrestor backwards sticking out the end cap. Right now everyone in my house is still sleeping so I haven't tried it. But I'm thinking of adding a little heavy guage steel wool into the screen. It will hold it in place. Good or bad idea?

Bad. You can't choke the exhaust like that, it will seriously mess with how the bike runs. And could likely damage the muffler too, the exhaust gases are extremely hot.

Advice taken.....Thank you. I read found another thread where a member installed an HMF Quiet Core into his Two Brothers muffler. There were very little details, just that it was quieter. Any input?

And on that note, I was suprised by how hot the stock exhaust gets. I keep waiting for the side panel to slide off into a pile of plastic goo. How much does removing the smog/air injection stuff reduce exhaust temps? Is it noticeable? I already wasted a reflector when I re-did my rear end, thought I left enough clearance but I guess not...

Not by much at all. Just keep working with the clearance until you get enough.

Isn't the clearance issue here because the slip on is designed for the 300 header and the 250 header is a little longer (like an inch or more)?
