finally got to finish reading it!

Awesome trip! Being from that small country down under, just can't really grasp a 360 degree view without sea being involved somewhere!

And good to see ya roughing it. What with all these modern day conveniences, it's good to get back to basics, like normal resolution tv's. Who needs hi def aye?

Looks like y'all had a blast! Great pics!
My Cousin wanted me to correct you, the microwave is made in Canada, and the truck is a Ford, not a Dodge. Then I had to inform him that I would never be caught in a Ford, and that my Dodge is far from a POS. So Boo Yaa and BAM!!!! Here is a real truck sparky.

Default just loved that

I've been following your posts on both the adv forum and here for a few years now, believe it or not, and actually just finally signed up to see the pics of the BB 351 upgrade that armycopter did (give me a month or two more of saving $ and I'll be lifting the front wheel too, hopefully... finally...)...

Well, I started looking around a bit at all the stuff I couldn't see when I wasn't a member and this is the most marvellous thing I've found so far tonight (and it's 2:12 in the am!)... so I just wanted to say thanks!

But before I go to bed... one last thought...

It's funny, I've been reading a few Peter Egan books the last few months and I keep thinking that we're a generation reinventing what was great about riding, and loving, bikes when we were young (born in the mid 60's)- before every poser could get their hands on superbike replicas for 500 bucks down... I never get as much enjoyment out of reading the mags anymore as I do out of reading the quality posts like yours... thanks again...

Thanks man....I don't know whether to say thanks for following me for a couple of years, or stop stalking me...LOL But seriously, I feel the same way about this new love of riding that transforms us back to the roots of what we grew up on. I'm embarrassed to say this, but who is Peter Egan? Should I be reading it? I'll look it up. Thanks again.

Wow! What a great ride report Deej. We've been planning a trip over to this area to spend a few days riding in this exact same area? We're planning to get there early Monday, camp out, and come back Tuesday night. (gotta be back at work on Wednesday)

I've driven past this area dozens of times on the way to Boise, but for some stupid reason I've never gone over with the bike to hit the trails over there. And now this trip report magically appears to tempt me even more! No doubt some of the higher trails will be blocked by snow, and camping is going to be nippy with overnight lows forecast in the 20's. But the afternoon highs for the days we're going are forecast in high 50's, low 60's, so maybe we'll thaw out in the afternoons! I'll try to get some pics for a ride report.

Thanks again for the teaser!

Default thanks again for the welcome

Peter Egan used to write a touring/kinda' lifestyle column called 'Leanings' for Cycle World magazine starting in the seventies... not sure if he still does- I seem to remember something about him going to road and track for a while... anyway, although his stories are about street riding, they're really mostly just about motorcycling adventure and old bikes- most of them have been compiled into two books, appropriately titled 'Leanings 1' and 'Leanings 2' which are available at amazon (and you can always ask at your local library too, if you still have one...)... great reads, both of them.

I'm just glad that it has stopped raining down here in Texas for a few days so I can ride again! Happy trails!
