Engine, cylinder(head) and radiator temperatura
I'm breaking in my new (January '09) KLX 250 S, and so far am still enjoying the purchase.
I'm driving the bike in Bali, in a mix of city-streets and small roads traffic. Only when I'm going off-road I'm wearing a leather suit, bikers boots or any other protective clothing. On the small trips (less than 10 miles) I usually wear "casual" or sports wear and shoes. Esspecially on those occassions I feel how hot the powerplant gets and I feel a little worried about the immense amount of heat produced by the engine that leads through the airflows against your legs. Also, the cylinder / head and engine block get VERY hot, but so far I haven't seen the temperature warning light on. I always check the liquid level in the cooling system, oil in the block, etc, and all are on "level" as adviced in the manual.
Am I worried to easily and is this heat-production common to the KLX or should I take precautionary measures to engine overheating problems, like make the fan kick in sooner, or others?
